Curtis Contracting, Inc. Road Service Mechanic in West Point, Virginia
Seeking a professional Road Service Technician that values a rewarding and challenging career opportunity. Responsibilities include diagnosing problems and performing standard mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and power-train repairs on heavy equipment at job sites/locations. These repairs may require working hours in addition to the normal work schedule for emergency calls or routine service as required. Flexibility and in-depth product knowledge/experience are necessary for this position. Seeking candidates with previous Caterpillar or related heavy equipment service experience, military diesel experience or completion of a diesel school program.
Minimum 5 years of experience in heavy equipment maintenance.
Experience working independently on heavy equipment out of a service truck.
Ability to analyze equipment malfunctions and administer the proper corrective action with the goal of a first-time fix for the customer.
Have an in depth understanding of hydraulics, electrical systems, and diesel engines.
Computer skills – able to use a laptop for diagnostics and machine software programming.
A positive attitude, works well with others and shows leadership in the service department
Strong communication skills – ability to provide information to management and customers
Able to work overtime as required by job and customer demand.
All other duties as assigned.
Must meet physical requirements for the job, including the ability to lift, carry and maneuver items up to 70 pounds, including bulky objects. These positions require repeated reaching, standing, stooping, kneeling, bending and climbing beside, onto and under a variety of equipment. Must be able to work outside in inclement weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, dampness and humidity.
