Job Description:

JOB OBJECTIVE : Utilize superb analytical skills to drive operational performance in the various areas of supply chain technologies and distribution operations. Manage various projects as directed by the Supply Chain Manager.


  • In addition to the essential job functions described below, all associates will perform duties as requested by management.

  • Provide daily support in the execution of all areas of Delivery and Install technology to include creating reports, analyzing and reporting key performance indicators, training documentation, training delivery, and implementation.

  • Create and build Standards of Procedure (SOPs) for HQ and the field and post and maintain on internal company website.

  • Provide daily support in the execution of all areas of Warehouse Technology to include creating reports, analyzing and reporting key performance indicators, training documentation, training delivery, and implementation

  • Manage and oversee a wide variety of special projects related to the, Ferguson Shipping Centers and Branch Warehouse Operations.

  • Cross-training with other Department Team Members to serve as back up for various functions performed on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.

  • Create ad-hoc SQL queries to retrieve data from various databases as needed.


  • Represent the company in a professional manner at all times ensuring quality customer service

  • Abide by all policies, rules, and regulations of the company including all applicable safety rules, regulations and procedures

  • Support corporate programs, goals, and initiatives of the company

  • Work overtime as needed

  • Travel as needed


  • Initiative, Leadership & Organizational skills are essential

  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, Microsoft Office and SharePoint experience preferred

  • Ability to work independently and with fellow associates

  • Proven working experience as a data analyst or business data analyst

  • Excellent problem solving skills

  • Strong knowledge of and experience with reporting packages (Business Objects etc.), databases (SQL etc.)

  • Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing datasets (Excel, Access, Tableau etc.)

  • Experience using mobile forms software Fast Field and Pronto would be a plus

  • Adept at queries, report writing and presenting findings

  • BS in Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Management or Statistics preferred but other four-year degrees will be considered


  • Excellent understanding of Ferguson’s culture

  • Understanding of Distribution Center and Branch Warehouse operating systems to include the HighJump WMS and Fleet & Delivery Technologies

  • Good understanding of FEI procedures and policies


  • Growth within the position, ultimately the person in this position should grow into an analyst well versed in Access Databases, PL/SQL and other reporting tools.

  • Recommendations made that lead to customer service improvements, operational efficiency gains, and/or cost savings.

ATTENDANCE REQUIREMENTS: Attendance on a regular, consistent basis is mandatory including arriving at the time scheduled by your supervisor daily.
